Cuban Foreign Minister meets in Paris with French secretary of State
Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez and the French secretary for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, meet on Thursday in this capital, where they agreed on the two countries’ will to further foster bilateral relations.
During the meeting at one of the venues of the French Foreign Ministry, the two parties reviewed the state of relations between Havana and Paris, and their interest in deepening high-level political-diplomatic dialogue and promote economic-commercial ties and investments.
Rodriguez and Lemoyne also exchanged criteria on issues of regional and international interest. The visitor underlined that Cuba grants top priority to relations with France, a major trading partner and one of its main tourist-sending markets.
We shared objectives such as the defense of multilateralism, the protection of the environment and the fight against the impact of climate change, said Rodriguez, who stopped over in Paris after participating in the high-level segment of the 43rd Session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva, where he met with French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian.
