“Monday the 11th and Tuesday the 12th of March, we will share government priorities in work sessions with the Presidents of all of Cuba’s Municipal Administration Councils,” President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez announced on Twitter, one of the social media dominated by hegemonic world communications powers, on which he defends the truth, ethically, with the superior moral authority of the Revolution.

These meetings are taking place just over a year since Díaz-Canel’s inauguration, when he told Cuba, with love and gratitude, that he did not come to promise anything, but to “offer the commitment to work and demand fulfillment of the program we have given ourselves as a government and as a people in the Policy Guidelines of the Party and the Revolution, in the short, medium, and long terms.”

The President is including these sessions in his work schedule after completing the first cycle of tours through all the country’s provinces and the Special Municipality, visits that have helped overcome problems and find solutions. He has explained and demanded of all agencies, organizations, and institutions, unity, discipline, and comprehensive analysis, with the necessary rigor to ensure that the enormous potential of our society is expressed in concrete results of growth, development, and prosperity.

In an effort to better promote the people’s wellbeing, the recently approved Constitution affords municipalities greater autonomy in their work. Thus the President, who has devoted energy and time to understand our challenging daily reality, is completing this style of work with these meetings, which put municipal leaders, who must respond to basic problems, front and center.
