The meeting sponsored by the Havana Jose Marti Studies Center promotes discussion about the vision of the Apostle on the American reality, its evolution and contemporaneity
The José Martí International Colloquium: his vision of the United States of America, is being held in the Marti Studies Center, located in Vedado from 18 to 20 of this month.
The themes of the work include the Martiano Analysis about American reality and its evolution, as well as Our America, the United States and contemporaneity of the Apostle.
Economic, political, social and cultural aspects of that society were assimilated by the National Hero through contact with the reality of the northern country for the last 15 years of his life.
In newspapers, classrooms and platforms he was critical of the mercantilist spirit of the nascent empire and he embodied his comprehensive vision in the North American Scenes and other texts.
Prior to the event being held this week in Havana, a Scientific Committee evaluated papers presented.
The José Martí International Colloquium: his vision of the United States, takes place in the context of the 160th anniversary of the Central American War against the invasion of the filibusters, part of the shaping of American capitalism.
The Organizing Committee is chaired by Dr. Ana Sánchez Collazo and has as Vice presidents Drs. Maria Elena Segura, Ibrahim Hidalgo Paz and Pedro Pablo Rodriguez Lopez.
