Death Toll Rises during Protests in Chile

The Intendance of Santiago de Chile Metropolitan Region reported that there are 11 deaths in that district during the demonstrations against President Sebastian Pinera.

On the other hand, the National Institute of Human Rights in recent hours filed 11 legal actions for police violence, and urged the public to report irregularities.

The demonstrations had been triggered by the announcement of a considerable increase in the Santiago Metro, the approval of which was issued by the Ministry of Transport.

In this way, the price of the ticket went on to be worth the equivalent of 1, 2 dollars, and many citizens reacted. This caused several passengers to enter the subway without paying for days, and incentivized the rest to do the same from social networks, under the label Evasion All Day.
