– Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, President of the Councils of State and Ministers, visited the sixth edition of the national Business Fair this Monday, which brings together more than 440 Cuban economic actors at the Expocuba fairgrounds, Havana.
– “We must definitely break with the import mentality we have, sometimes out of convenience when administrating, others due to ignorance,” he stressed, while acknowledging that “What we have seen here is encouraging, and we have to accompany it with government management and planning that favors development.”
– The Cuban President emphasized that we must encourage enterprises to get to know each other, seek national solutions and avoid indebtedness, among economic priorities that the Business Fair can help bring to fruition.
– Díaz-Canel also attended the reopening of the Alfredo Miguel Aguayo Primary School, in Diez de Octubre municipality, one of the most affected by the tornado that hit Havana in January. He was accompanied by Luis Antonio Torres Iríbar, first Party secretary in Havana; Reinaldo García Zapata, president of the Havana Provincial Assembly of People’s Power; and Ena Elsa Velázquez, minister of Education.
– With this work, he stressed, “We have demonstrated once again that the Revolution leaves no one helpless and will continue to defend education, health and its achievements, regardless of the threats and lies about our reality.”
– The Cuban leader also toured the La Asunción teachers’ residence, in the same municipality, which lost its roof during the tornado, and today has been fully renovated.
