The purpose of Radio Metropolitana is to promote varied options that enrich cultural life for different audiences, and also to provide them a good company during the summer time. The radio of home (la radio de casa in Spanish), as it is known, starts the summer with proposals for their audiences, said their managers.
There are two new radio programs among the proposals in which they have taken into account the requests of the listeners: the radio program Como han pasado los años, directed and narrated by Guillermo Rivero de la Rosa, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m local time, with music from the past.
The other radio program, with a youth recipient and entitled Entre nosotros is directed by Marie Álvarez from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. with interaction on social networks.
Cinema express will have 28 minutes for comments intended for film lovers and proposals to enjoy the big screen at 3:00 p.m.
The cultural magazines Esta Mañana and A Propósito will provide, apart from their offers, an informative board for people to enjoy holidays. The magazine A Propósito will be dedicated especially to Havana in its 500 years as well as De Noche en La Habana that will be on air at 11:00 p.m.
Another significant aspect that the directors of the radio station emphasized are the music magazines with interviews proposals, contests, live transmission of concerts and good music, musical requests, and the radial voice competition by the 500 years of the capital in El Dueño del Mediodía, name that they gave to the program Mezcla, the one of larger audience according to the last studies made.
The Super Musical Latina, will continue to defend rumba, rap, son and in general Cuban and Latin American music, while Scala Master will do the same with Anglo-Saxon music.
At 10:00 and at 15:30 the information will be given by a group of journalists from the information system in their Novedades Magazine that includes social facilitation and the Garantes de la Justicia section in alliance with the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office and the De Buena Tinta newcast.
Para Luego es Tarde will be another proposal to know billboards, swaps purchase and sales.
There will be no lack of knowledge regarding history from the local with Historia, Comunidad y Fechas that makes the history and the presence of Marti in Un Amigo Sincero.
Radio Metropolitana radio station, according to its programming director Julio Jiménez, joins the celebrations for the 500th anniversary of Havana, with many motivations, especially the 150th anniversary of the beginning of independence wars, to serve Havana citizens and visitors.
