The general overhaul of the Stomatological Clinic of Santa Catalina located in 10 de Octubre municipality, will allow to offer specialized services to more than 50 thousand people of the capital

The newly inaugurated Stomatology Clinic of Santa Catalina is a real gift for the people of 10 de Octubre municipality, which after three years without offering services reopened its doors following a capital repairing.

In the clinic, will be assisted citizens of Víbora, Santos Suárez and Tamarindo people’s councils, as well as patients from 43 medical offices located in the area, which exceeds the 50 thousand people, says its, Dr. Luis Romelio Miranda Martínez, director of the entity.

The director of the health center explained that after three years closed due to the danger of collapse, the clinic started the repairing works.  The amount of investments involved rised to two million Cuban pesos and the tremendous effort on the part of builders and personnel in charge.

The stomatological clinic of Santa Catalina consists of three care facilities, one in Calzada de Diez de Octubre, another that provides school services in the Alfredo Miguel Aguayo Primary School and this one, located in the avenue of the same name, with 10 completely new armchairs, 38 stomatologists, and includes specialties of orthodontics, prosthetics and periodontics.

The students’ training of different specialties and postgraduate studies will also be included among the occupations of the recently repaired installation, emphasized Luis Romelio Miranda who is in charge of the clinic.

A true gift

For Bárbara Maritza Agón Fernández, president of the Administration Council of 10 de Octubre municipality, having this clinic back is the result of the correct use of the funds collected through the territorial contribution, ascending in the locality to seven million Cuban pesos and whose result also appears in the completion of works in other sectors such as gastronomy, housing and culture.

She also highlighted the need for care of the facilities that are at the service of the population of the territory, including for this year a group of medical offices and pharmacies and Raúl Gómez hospital polyclinic, where children of the city are assisted.  This policlinic will be totally repaired, including its currently closed surgical rooms.

The president of the Administration Council explained that also invests in the housing sector, with the revival of several buildings located on the emblematic Calzada de 10 de Octubre, as well as some of its citadels, and other rapairing actions in bakeries, industrial markets and children’s playgrounds, all of it aimed at the next celebration of the 500th anniversary of the founding of the city.
