Havana.-The play 10 millones, first script of Argos Teatro director Carlos Cedrán, has enjoyed an excellent season in Cuba and in the United States. The staging is on the cover of latest Tablas magazine edition.

The official release of this publication was recently produced in the venue of Argos Teatro and pays tribute to the late Cuban actor José Antonio Rodríguez. The theater researcher Reinaldo Montero moves through Rodríguez’s extensive career in the world of Cuban theater. Playwright and director Eugenio Hernández Espinosa was also honored in his 80 years of age.

Also highlights a dossier that includes accounts of shows and chronologies on El Ciervo Encantado, an important theater group directed by Nelda Castillo and in which actress Mariela Brito has developed a succesful career.

As usual the segment Oficio de la crítica includes a series of texts by novels and experienced theater experts who exercise the authorized critic. It is an ideal opportunity to assess the current state of the contemporary Latin American theatre through 2016’s Mayo Teatral.

Some of the groups whose plays arise the experts’ interest are Teatro de los Elementos from Cuba, the Mexican company Los Colochos and Chile’s group Viaje Inmóvil.
