HAVMUN 2017 returns to its headquarters in the University of Havana

The official section of the Model United Nations (HAVMUN 2017) will be held again in its usual seat in the House of Higher Studies of the University of Havana in March 2017

Eduardo Perez Otaño, secretary general and chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Model United Nations (HAVMUN 2017) announced that the official section of this body returns to its usual venue at the University of Havana in plenary at the Aula Magna from March 27 to 31 next year.

The head of the Model United Nations described the section as “must act” in the knowledge of the ideals and purposes which are part of the Charter of the United Nations (UN), based on the attitude and the role that university students play in the current geopolitical map, characterized by hegemony and the violation of human rights. 

The session of the new edition focuses on the target, debate and analysis on topics related to international cooperation for environmental protection, also the approval of the Procedural Manual on environmental issues. 

A variety of documents from various organizations associated with the model will be re-conceptualized by the university students, who will propose other initiatives on the care and protection of the environment, especially in safety regulations, which are often overlooked and placed outside aggressive policies whose practices threaten the security and stability of communities and nature reserves. 

HAVMUN 2017, returns to the University Hill, with a commitment to strengthen the academic prestige of its members, with the presence of countries like Mexico, Venezuela, Ecuador and Argentina. 

The section of this year showed how some of its members, give interest to training and study of issues related to the United Nations Charter, based on the exercise of justice in disputes between countries of different geographical areas, because of the many regional and global conflicts.
