University of Pedagogical Sciences: as high as palms

It will assume the national coordination of the 23 subjects of teaching in Cuba

The 23 subjects in the pedagogical field assumes today the curriculum E, are now headed by the Enrique José Varona University of Pedagogical Sciences of Havana, in the coordination work that, since 2014, has certified this higher studies centre in the capital with excellence for two of its specialties.

The Careers of Speech Therapy and Special Education earned the certification of excellence between national and international standards that make their curriculum, and scientific research and professional performance meritorious, to embrace a challenge with teachers and management of Varona, of making comprehensive, the rest of their degrees one hundred per cent.

In an interview with the rector of the Enrique José Varona University of Pedagogical Sciences, Dr. Deysi Fraga Cedré, she stressed that the challenge is to guide methodological, didactic and pedagogically subsidiaries throughout the country to implement the Plan E curriculum, address the national career presidents and their committees so that in four years of studies, they take full advantage of the potential of each curriculum.

This comprehensiveness, she said, aspires to strengthen the undergraduate stage of preparation for employment and post-graduate students in Cuba is continuous and permanent. This is to teach the young student in the shortest time possible, self-management of their knowledge, and used thoroughly in the use of new information technologies and communications, so that is an active entity in its formation.

The rector said that it is also a challenge to include in Plan E the curriculum in the course by meetings (CPE), then, at the same time ease the entry of working people, of all ages and with no work link, to careers of teachers, allowing those who want to do a degree from their jobs, as active teachers, giving a jump quality in academic performance, beng studying everything new in training as teachers.

Now- emphasized the rector- applicants for meetings will overcome, in the first year of the career, the subjects of Spanish, Mathematics and History, through a test in order to continue with bachelor’s degrees already acquired and registered,

This range of possibilities when entering the teaching Varona allowed to have 2,080 students (CPE) classes in this stage; something that will strengthen the habanero teachers in the current period.
