The presence of the electronic book with current issues of Cuban society is a reality in the 25th International Fair of literary art

The transition from analogue to digital warns of the presence of new modes of consumption in the market of printed text. A premise that occupies the motivations of the literary production of the Cuban Institute of Philosophy at the 25th International Book Fair in Havana as part of efforts to take the necessary journey in search of new generations beyond the everyday practice exercised by the traditional reader.

This time, with the presentation of six electronic books this Havana academic institution summarizes most of the research produced last year, whose themes are approaching at different angles the contemporary problems of society recognizing the integration of knowledge and philosophical wisdom.

In addition to these digital copies they also presented Number 44 of the Cuban Journal of Social Sciences and a booklet on topics related to cooperativism, production and reproduction of life both cultural and environmental published by filosofí@.cu.

Among the texts outstanding are titles like ‘Feminism and socialism. Dirty words,’ written by Georgina Alfonso González, ‘Work collectives, Where are they?’ co-authored by Rafael Ahama Belamaric and Jesus Pastor Garcia. It also highlights examples of groups of authors ‘The Republic through the looking glass: Marxism and nation in the 40s and 50s together with Cuba in the 21st century towards a new model of socialist development. This latest issue of the Institute of Philosophy responds to three essential issues of the process of social and economic transformation taking place in the Cuban nation dealing with social equality, political leadership and the power of workers through union participation.

According to of one of its authors Dr. Jorge Luis Santana Pérez book presupposes penetrating the inevitable to evaluate theoretical horizons, understand and assimilate the role of the socialist system’s own categories passing through the background and necessary adjustments to the current context. This varies not only in time and the present generation that gives it life but also as a result of the changes in the world and the ways of doing politics and philosophizing about thinking. The new academic literary production of the Havana institution not only prepares the reader in understanding the social and political dilemmas of society but also in providing bibliographic references for the university world without updating on contemporary theoretical analysis. To these ideas add updating the consumption of books in digital frames and more feasible practices of producing without losing time.
